MG at Home: The Working From Home Diary

Tanya Nayee, Client Executive

Seeing as we are now well into lockdown 2.0, earlier this week I joined a virtual candle making class with GumGum and it felt so good to do something more arts and crafts related. The candle is lit (literally). Work wise, so much has been happening this week, but the wait is finally over and the John Lewis Partnership’s Christmas campaign has launched today (Friday 13th November)! The hard work and dedication of the team has been tremendous and it’s incredible to see how much of an impact this campaign has on the nation.

I’m finally making use of my authority as an older sister and forcing my younger sister to wake me up to watch the sunrise and join me on morning runs. Once she gets the hang of bringing me my morning coffee, we’ll be good to go. I’m not the biggest exercise lover so usually take to gym classes and a slightly scare instructor telling me what to do. However, with lockdown life and gyms closed, my weekends now revolve around going for walks and runs. This weekend (and most likely the rest of the year’s) weather forecast is looking horrendous, so said walks are looking a lot less likely!

On a brighter note, its Diwali this weekend so Happy Diwali to anybody celebrating! Unfortunately, we’re not able to have the usual big party with family and friends, but it’s still an excuse to dress up (this means eyeshadow, obvs), popping open the champers and eating my bodyweight in delicious food. Not sure Mum’s quite got the hang of the whole ‘vege food on Diwali’ thing since she’s hinting for us to make a beef wellington… I was also born on Diwali 2years ago so hoping I can skew this for another birthday celebration too??

In entertainment news, recently drilling has been the soundtrack to my day as we’ve had maintenance work going on in the house. A burst pipe has led to a massive hole in the ceiling, and I mean massive – not exactly what I meant when I said I liked drill music. But I can’t contain my excitement as I’ve booked my first concert for 2021 and I will be surprising my best friend for her birthday with tickets to see Little Mix.

So, as you can see, lots has been happening but ultimately, as I’m sure many can agree, I can’t wait to be out of lockdown!
