MG OMD sets up advisory board and promotes senior staff

Omnicom’s Manning Gottlieb OMD has appointed The Barber Shop founder Dino Myers-Lamptey as director of a new leadership advisory board and made several senior internal promotions.

Four divisional leaders have been handed C-suite titles. The agency’s head of planning Emma Withington becomes chief planning officer,  investment lead Lewis Shaw will be chief investment officer, head of operations David Bratt is now chief operating officer, and head of finance Ravinder Panesar moves to chief financial officer.

MG OMD chief executive Natalie Bell told Campaign the leaders being promoted “have been at the heart of the agency’s success in the past year” during which the agency won the Virgin Media O2 Giffgaff and Gambleaware media pitches, retained John Lewis Partnership and was the most awarded agency at last year’s Media Week Awards.

Myers-Lamptey has joined MG OMD’s leadership team as a non-executive director and will run a board of external consultants across the industry to provide “external stimulus” to MG OMD’s leadership and growth projects.

He said: “As an industry we often do a lot of talking around the importance of diversity at the top, and how businesses grow through more diverse and thought-provoking voices, so I was delighted when MG OMD, an agency at the top of its game, approached me about the idea of the NED role for the leadership advisory board.

“Hopefully I can help inspire and inject some of the entrepreneurial spirit that’s inherent in how we operate at The Barber Shop, though also shine a light on the benefits of such relationships for the rest of our industry.”

Bell said the agency has a long-serving leadership team that values being challenged internally and externally.

“I’m delighted that Dino is joining us as director of the leadership advisory board. I couldn’t think of anyone better aligned with our values and with such a broad view of the industry  on the topics that matter now and those integral to the future,” she said.

MG OMD has a challenger board of 15 elected and staff from more junior levels to provide scrutiny over the leadership team and its decisions.
