Manning Gottlieb OMD opens its doors to the next generation of adlanders

On Friday 27 September we opened our doors to the next generation of adlanders, revealing how campaigns are made and the various careers that exist within media and at MG OMD.

The day was part of an IPA initiative where the advertising world invites schools and colleges across the UK to the only industry-wide open day, ‘Advertising Unlocked’. The IPA anticipated that over 1,500 students took part across the entire country.

Everything that students and teachers needed to know about a career in advertising was on show and demonstrated by our very own MG’ers. 15 students aged 16-18 from Southfields Academy came to spend the day in the agency and heard from different departments about the great work produced and people’s very own pathways into their careers.

The feedback we received from the students was great, they loved the agency and the whole experience. They ended the day feeling that their horizons had been broadened and with lots to consider for their future careers.

We are now hoping to form a partnership with Southfields Academy for future work experience, internships and apprenticeships which will be an exciting opportunity for both us and them.
