At this unprecedented time, communities are coming together, people are offering a helping hand to those in need and random acts of kindness are taking place left, right and centre.
We at OMG UK would like to play our part by fundraising for an incredibly worthy cause – Age UK… and have some fun along the way!
Age UK launched a £10m emergency appeal with the goal of supporting older people during the coronavirus outbreak. Older people are not only more vulnerable to being affected by the infection itself, but due to the need to self-isolate, they are also most likely to struggle with access to medication, grocery shopping and loneliness. Age UK needs our support to meet the growing demands on their Advice Line, providing expert advice and support to all older people, their carers and families, continuing their friendship services, as well as with food parcel deliveries, shopping services, over-the-phone support, and prescription collection.
We are raising money across OMG UK to help contribute to Age UK’s goal by taking part in a Virtual Marathon Fundraiser. Our employees will be covering the distance of a marathon (26.2 miles) over the period of a month, all of course within the Government’s guidelines. We will be running, walking, and participating in a number of alternative physical activities all within our homes!
